You can’t stay where you are.
But you don’t know what’s next.
Virtual sessions available in New York, Illinois, Connecticut, and Virginia
It’s scary to start over.
It’s scary to walk away from the relationship. The person you were sure you’d marry. It’s hard to walk away from the job that isn’t working. (Even harder if the decision to leave isn’t your choice or on your terms.) It’s scary to get the phone call. The one from your doctor. The callback you’ve been avoiding, because it’s the exact news you thought it might be.
If this sounds familiar, hi! I’m Katie, a licensed psychotherapist helping high-achievers start over.
I’ve started over many (many, many) times. From licensing my company in my twenties to surviving a brain tumor in my thirties, I understand what it’s like to shed one identity before growing into the next one. I understand what it feels like to be in between chapters. The messy middle.
But I have some good news for you: this doesn’t last forever.
So, let’s get started. Little by little, I’ll help you reconnect with your intuition, dismantle the patterns holding you back, and refine your sense of purpose, so you can create a life you love.

About Katie
Katie Schloss, AM, LCSW, is a licensed psychotherapist and executive coach helping high-achievers navigate identity crises, life transitions, and burnout.
Before entering clinical practice, Katie was the entrepreneur and designer behind the Map Collection (licensed to A.JAFFE in 2014), a line of best-selling custom jewelry worn by Jennifer Lawrence, Allison Williams, and Kendall Jenner, among others.
Until the plot twist: a diagnosis of a 3" brain tumor. And in an instant, her picture-perfect life fell apart, forcing her to rebuild her life from the ground up.
Following her surgery, Katie attended the Iowa Writers’ Workshop Summer Program, which led to a job working for DK, a division of Penguin Random House, where she oversaw marketing plans for all licensed titles, ultimately earning her Master’s degree from the University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice.
Drawing on her diverse backgrounds across creative, corporate, and entrepreneurial spaces, today Katie works with C-suite executives, founders, high-performing professionals, individuals facing health crises, and adults navigating modern dating or identity shifts to create safety and support in the art of starting over.
Blending evidence-based frameworks—including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy—Katie offers a warm, collaborative, and insight-driven approach. She helps clients break through burnout to design a life they love.
Outside the Therapy Room
Outside of the therapy room, I'm usually reading, writing, or some combination of the two. I’m a native New Yorker, born and raised (my first word was "taxi," and I could hail a cab by the time I was nine months old).
Lately, I’m on a mission to learn everything I somehow missed as a child of Manhattan: riding a bike, driving a car, sailing, and playing card games (though my parents are still holding out hope I make the jump from Spades to Bridge).
When I’m not learning a new skill, you can usually find me with a minimum of four beverages open at any given time, running (2x marathon finisher), hiking (just wrapped up the Tour du Mont Blanc!), or spending time with my Bernedoodle, Ribbit, as I work my way through the entire New York Times Bestseller list.
One of my most toxic traits? I am genuinely convinced I’d make a great DJ. Provided, of course, that your venue caters to Taylor Swift and Jack Harlow mash-ups.
Living a life my 7-year-old self would be proud of—one where I honor rest, creativity, and a healthy dose of imperfection—is my biggest flex. That’s the gift I hope to bring into every session: the space and permission to becoming yourself.
“I’m not what happened to me. I’m what I choose to become.”
