founders & leaders

You’ve outgrown where you are.

Let’s build what comes next.

It’s scary to realize you’ve outgrown your life, even scarier to start over.

It’s scary to walk away from the relationship. The person you were sure you’d marry. It’s hard to walk away from the job that isn’t working (even harder if the decision to leave wasn’t on your terms). It’s scary to get the phone call from your doctor. The callback you’ve been avoiding because it’s the exact news you feared.

If this sounds familiar, hi! I’m Katie, a licensed psychotherapist helping founders and leaders like you pivot and create a life you love.

I’ve pivoted many times. From licensing my company in my twenties to surviving a brain tumor in my thirties, I understand what it’s like to shed one identity before fully growing into the next. I understand what it feels like to be in between chapters. I know what it feels like to sit in the messy middle.

But here’s the good news: you don't have to stay here.

So, let's build what's next. Little by little, I’ll help you reconnect with your intuition, break down the patterns holding you back, and refine your sense of purpose so you can build a life you truly love.

About Katie

Katie Schloss, AM, LCSW, is a licensed clinical psychotherapist and executive coach who helps founders and leaders navigate major life transitions.

Before entering clinical practice, Katie founded the Map Collection (licensed to A.JAFFE in 2014), a line of best-selling custom jewelry worn by Jennifer Lawrence, Allison Williams, and Kendall Jenner, among others.

At 30, Katie’s life took an unexpected pivot when a brain tumor diagnosis forced her to pause and rebuild her life from the ground up.

Following her recovery, Katie attended the Iowa Writers’ Workshop Summer Program, which led to a role overseeing marketing strategy for all licensed titles at DK, a division of Penguin Random House. She went on to earn her Master’s degree from the University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice.

Today Katie draws upon her diverse background across creative, corporate, and entrepreneurial spaces, to support with C-suite executives, founders, and other high-performing leaders. Blending evidence-based frameworks—including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative Therapy—she offers a warm, collaborative, and insight-driven approach to help clients create a life they love.

Outside the Therapy Room

Outside of the therapy room, I'm usually reading, writing, or some combination of the two. I’m a native New Yorker (my first word was "taxi," and I could hail a cab by the time I was nine months old), so I can usually be spotted enjoying everything the city has to offer, from concerts at Madison Square Garden to art exhibits at the Met.

Lately, I’ve been on a mission to learn everything I somehow missed as a child of Manhattan: riding a bike, driving a car, sailing, and playing card games (though my parents are still holding out hope I make the jump from Spades to Bridge).

When I’m not learning a new skill, you can usually find me with a minimum of four beverages at any given time, running (2x marathon finisher!), hiking (just wrapped up the Tour du Mont Blanc!), working my way through the New York Times Bestseller list, or spending time with my Bernedoodle, Ribbit.

My red flag is that I think I’d make a great DJ. Provided, of course, that you like Taylor Swift and Jack Harlow mash-ups.

Living a life my 7-year-old self would be proud of—one where I honor rest, creativity, and a healthy dose of imperfection—is my greatest achievement, and that’s the gift I hope to bring to the therapy room: a space to become uniquely yourself.

You were meant for a big life.

You just don’t know how to get there.

Specializations

Therapy for Chronic Illness & Health Advocacy

Navigating a chronic condition can leave you feeling disconnected from your own body, exhausted by endless management, and isolated in your experience. We work together to process the grief and uncertainty that often accompany a diagnosis, build self-compassion, and help you cultivate a full, meaningful life alongside health challenges.

Dating & Relationship Therapy

Whether you find yourself repeating the same painful cycles, feeling disconnected from a long-term partner, or overwhelmed by modern dating, you don't have to navigate it alone. Together, we explore how past patterns shape how you connect, help you unhook from self-defeating beliefs, and build dynamic, authentic relationships grounded in clarity and trust.

Work-Related Stress & Professional Burnout

When high achievement turns into constant pressure, it’s easy to feel like your worth is bound entirely to your productivity. We tackle the anxiety, perfectionism, and over-functioning driving your stress. You'll learn to set sustainable boundaries, redefine success on your own terms, and reconnect with clarity without sacrificing your well-being.

Therapeutic Modalities & Approaches

ACT

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you build psychological flexibility by teaching you to make peace with difficult thoughts and feelings instead of constantly fighting them. Instead of getting stuck in internal struggles, we help you clarify your core values and take intentional, committed action toward a life that truly matters to you.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) helps you process and release the painful memories, core beliefs, and somatic distress holding you back. Instead of just talking through past experiences, EMDR utilizes bilateral stimulation to help your brain reprocess stuck trauma, allowing you to discharge old emotional weight, reframe limiting narratives, and move forward with clarity and calm.

IFS

Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you understand and harmonize the different parts of your inner world, especially the protective patterns, perfectionism, or anxiety that keep you feeling stuck. Instead of trying to eliminate or ignore these inner voices, IFS helps you access your calm, grounded core—your true Self—so you can heal old burdens, resolve internal conflict, and lead your life with self-compassion and clarity.

Narrative Therapy

Your story is powerful, but it isn't set in stone. Narrative Therapy helps you see yourself as separate from your problems, giving you space to examine the internal scripts and societal expectations shaping your life. Together, we rewrite limiting narratives so you can step into an empowered, self-authored identity.

Motivational Interviewing

Feeling stuck or conflicted about making a change is a natural part of being human. Motivational Interviewing offers a collaborative, non-judgmental space to explore mixed feelings, discover your internal motivations, and build confidence as you make meaningful shifts at a pace that feels grounded and real.
